It's Ok To Eat Bad

I am the type of person who reads often. If something seems to have an interesting title I read it. It doesn't matter if it is about computers, child raising, cooking, or health. It really can be anything and I'll take a look at it. I love reading. Now I go for check-ups at the dentist 2 times a year. So I don't remember when this was.... but I remember reading a health magazine for men. There was an article about losing weight, and making the metabolism work harder.

Let me break my train of thought to explain something that I know. The key to going from fat to thin is by making your metabolism go faster. No, fat doesn't turn into muscle. Don't believe it one bit. Fat lacks the ingredients needed to turn into muscle fiber. Anyway, knowing what I know about the metabolism the article I was reading seemed to be heading in the right direction of the truth.

This article said you have to eat healthy. All week long. Stay away from too many sugary things, don't drink too many energy drinks, too much coffee is bad, too much pizza is bad, watch out for too many fast foods, etc...OK we all know this. I'm sitting there kinda laughing at this regurgitated piece of advice on what not to eat. Then the article took a twist.

It said that for men it's good to once a week binge on junk food. Donuts, cake, cookies, pizza, and anything else that is bad for you. It says that what this does is it throws a wrench in what your body is used to, which in turn it causes your metabolism to speed up and burn fat. At the time I knew a guy who was a nutritionist. He was a great person to talk with about health, because he was open to anything and willing to do research on it. Anyway I talked with him about it, and he said he hadn't read the article but it does have some validity. He went on to explain why, which I will spare everyone most of it...and because I don't remember all of what he said.

So if you are trying to lose weight, go for this approach. Eat healthy from Sunday to Friday, and then on Saturday go all out on unhealthy. I've never done it that way because I know a way that works really well for me, which I will post about later. Though I do remember this nutritionist guy telling me that people who don't have any health problems such as diabetes or high cholesterol or anything like that should be fine, but if someone has health problems then they shouldn't try this approach at all. So if you are healthy enough go for it, but if you don't know if you are or not then I suggest you check with a physician first to see if you are healthy enough.
