![]() Slashdot's AnswerHappy Groundhog Day. I hope everyone had a nice day today. We got news I'm sure many of you will be happy about. The groundhog didn't see his shadow, so we will have an early Spring. I do wish for a bit more snow in my area to be honest... Anyway I want to point something out that has something to do with the main topic of the post. Right now it is February 2, 2007. www.ubuntupimp.com hasn't been launched yet. In fact many of these blogs are being written before the launch date. As of right now I suspect the launch date will be in about a week or two. With all this in mind, let's talk a bit about a Slashdot editorial that I just recently read. The name of the editorial is, "How Do You Advocate Linux In 5 Minutes." This is an interesting question. The reason why I say so, is because the Ubuntu Pimp has a blog about how to do it. The problem is I haven't launched the site yet, so how can this person know about the Ubuntu Pimp blog? Still, the idea of this editorial is that the guy was looking over a Linux magazine at the Library. Some other guy inquired about his use of Linux. So they started talking. It turns out the guy who did the inquiring had tried Linux but found it too hard. The funny thing about that is, I find a lot of people say that. There is good reason for that, which even I have to admit. The interesting thing is someone commented on this editorial saying that Linux isn't for everyone. This is why I agree. Not everyone is going to go through the web searching for fixes and how to's. Not everyone has the same computing skills as myself and others who are even beyond me, or at the same level. The interesting thing I found was one guy said that all of us trying to convert the world over to Linux needs to stop trying, because Linux isn't ready to just work right out of the box. This is where it's time for me to jump up and pimp slap this fool, and anyone else who want to say this back to their respective places...which is under my boot. As far as I'm concerned I will try to convert, coerce, and force everyone to use Linux, especially Ubuntu. Why? Because I am a pimp. All of you in this world are my Ho's. This goes for people such as George Bush all the way down to people like Jeffery Dahmer... well that is if he were still alive. Can all of you imagine that? Me Pimp Slapping George Bush telling him he is my Ho and he has to use Linux? Seriously though, we are allowed to do anything we want to, to get people to use Linux. There is a guy on ubuntuforums.org who had said that he got his family to use Ubuntu by installing it, making it look like XP, and gradually making it look like Ubuntu. He said it was hard because he had to do a lot of tweaking but he did it. If you ask me that is amazing, and we all need to be like this. Recently I have had the (joy?) of using Vista. I hated it...I really did. Now, I will admit that it's wireless manager is just amazing. Also, the WMP 11 is just great. I would say it's definitely on par with Winamp now. Still, I just hate Vista. It's over glorified and just entirely too bulky. Let's not forget that all privacy is gone with Vista. That's right folks, it's all gone now. Good luck using your pirated software. I also say be prepared not to be able to listen to MP3's anymore in the future. It just seems it's going that way. Anyway I used Vista and hated it. I feel that even though Ubuntu Edgy Eft is a little buggy, it's still better. I feel that even though Vista is supposed to be beyond Edgy, it's not. Is Fesity Fawn, the next Ubuntu release supposed to be on par with Vista? I doubt it. I think Feisty Fawn is going to be beyond Vista like a Bentley is beyond a low grade Ford or Chevy. Yes I'm calling Vista low grade. Does anyone have a problem with that? I sure hope so. Come say something and I'll shoot you. Guns are cheap and easy to get in the Ghetto. Anyway, it's not hard to advocate (Pimp) Linux to the world. After all that is what this slashdot editorial is about. It's about if you can Pimp Linux in 5 minutes. I know I can, and I have too. I pimped Ubuntu to Exotica's friend in just 5 minutes. In fact Exotica was shocked to find out that it actually worked on a Chinese girl. The reason why is because my girlfriend Exotica seems to believe that there is no place for Linux with Chinese people. So I'm going to prove her wrong in the future. So please everyone. Follow my guide on how to pimp Ubuntu off to the right type of people, because I say in another year Ubuntu will be able to work just out of the box, unless Microsoft pulls something dastardly, in which I will have no choice but to start shooting people in the Microsoft offices. I'm not kidding it's not hard to buy an AK-47 in the ghetto for less than $100 US. I had friends in highschool who sold them. So I know what the running prices are if I wanted to go all out on a bunch of Punk Microsoft Fools. Now, go pimp and don't be afraid. After all if you show any fear or doubt, you will have lost a potential Linux user. No matter if it is Slackware or Ubuntu. GO AND PIMP!!! |
